The Rail Invention

With over 200 years of innovation and improvement, train industry managed to grow from its simple “steam engine” years to the modern envorment where train networks encompass entire planet Earth. Find out more about railway history here.

Flying In The Air

The airplane is not only one of the greatest inventions in the 20th century, but also the most wonderful scientific creation of the human history at large. Flying higher and higher, floating deep into the air like birds, and moving from one place to the other within a jiffy in order to mitigate the distances had always been one of the most astounding dreams of human beings since the beginning of time. Several experiments had been conducted time and again to make flying a certain possibility, but until Orville and Wilbur Wright came along it was still a far cry to convert this dream into reality.

The traditionalists declared this dream a mere wild goose chase, but the dogged will, unabated efforts, and continuous struggle applied by the Wright Brothers of the United States flabbergasted the world when their experiment of flying this strange machine (airplane) turned out successful in December, 1903. Their achievement was not the matter of only a single day. On the contrary, they had worked day-in and day-out with unflinching passion and had invented seven initial shapes of aircraft including one kite, three gliders, and three powered airplanes.

The invention of airplane was an incredible achievement in the field of science and technology that brought about great cultural strides that greatly impacted our society in many ways. For example, the world really became a small village where every part could be easily visited without wasting any precious time. The long and exhausting journeys that used to take months, weeks, and days in the past could be completed within hours.

Also, the people belonging to divergent parts of the world could travel from one region to the other quickly, thereby exchanging different aspects in social and cultural experiences. People now had the ability to gage their arrival time in different regions.
